You have been the Indian Ambassador of the World Flair Association, how was your experience?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- WFA approached us at an early stage to us and yes the experience was great to mentor aspiring bartenders under WFA umbrella. WFA International Team also started a gradation mark where your salary and reputation comes with grading you secure in exams it was more of Karate/Taekwondo where you get different color belts at different levels for which you have to do the hard work and achieve that grade. WFA in India has now been revoked as there is very little of flair happening in industry as most of the competitions include cocktail techniques and the right standards of serving drinks which is used internationally. I started Indian Bartender Association on facebook and Flair Bartending and Spirits which has more than 2200 members and we post all updates on industry including jobs updates.

How do you avoid serving to minors?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- By saying NO to them if we found them in party and strict instructions is given to team members for responsible serving.

Do you drink behind the Bar?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- Never. Unprofessionalism do exists hence there is a question like this.

Tell us about garnishes you enjoy using for various cocktails?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- Mostly creative ones, dehydrated garnishes have been everyone’s favorite at all places with some burnt smoky spices depending upon the kind of cocktails you are serving.

Share with us any of the funny incidents happened in your bar?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- Many incidents happened so far it was tense then for team but looks funny now for example during one of the event I asked my team to shut the bar sharp at bar timings as I strictly follow rules created by excise and then I left for some meeting, after that a guy came in and asked for a drink from bartender and when bartender refused to serve drink the guy pull out his AK56 (as explained by bartender) and said “ Can I get it now” Bartender had no choice he gave him the bottle and asked him to drink outside and still followed the rule of not serving beyond timings.

What is your take on keeping the bar atmosphere safe yet happening

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- Safe bar atmosphere includes a lot of aspects than just placing bouncers outside the bar. We promote responsible drinking and Don’t Drink and Drive and always ask our guests to follow same. In addition to that there is strict no use of liquid nitrogen in cocktails in my bar to avoid any fatalities. A bar can only be happening if you’re serving right stuff at right pricing and give your guests a place where they would love to be with good music and some basic rules to provide a safe environment to the bar.

What is the inspiration behind your YouTube videos?

Mr Vineet V Mishra:- Idea behind creating these videos So there are lot of aspiring mixologists and students called for the bartending course and majority of them find the course expensive and they usually ask for discounts, waiver or if they can pay in installments so I thought why not offer an online course free to them.

Lots of these kids /people usually working in corporates find it difficult to talk during their meet ups if somebody starts talking about single malts, cocktails, cognac etc. So these videos will be helpful for them also before going to party or even in party, take 30 seconds break, watch the videos and talk confidently as you know everything about it.

A lot of friends called me for my whereabouts as I was not active on social media. At somepoint in your career you realize you have to give it back to the industry to its people, consumers. With this idea over last few months we shot hell lot of informative videos for budding mixologists, hoteliers and consumers. Our official pages and my timeline will broadcast these videos, alternatively these videos are also available at Youtube.com/CocktailJockey Subscribe the channel to stay updated on beverages
