Andaz Delhi wins at the Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards and Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards

New Delhi, 7^th December 2019: AnnaMaya at Andaz Delhi won the Excellence Award for Sustainable Dining at the ninth edition of Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards held in New Delhi on 19^th November 2019. AnnaMaya was felicitated for its dedicated endeavours towards sustainable food practices.

Inspired by the colours and flavours of India, AnnaMaya is the European Food Hall at Andaz Delhi. The food hall follows the ‘Made in India’ concept, as all products used are produced in India, have a socially inspiring story behind the business execution, and their current business module is socially relevant in order to help communities and their respective environments within India.

AnnaMaya is championing the cause of sustainability so much so that it has listed “Raising Awareness” as part of its motto. Whether it is growing its own micro-greens or sourcing artisanal produce from villages across India, the restaurant has been walking the talk on sustainable food practices. Thanks to its patronage, hundreds of women have found a fulfilling livelihood. Women who had no source of income are now earning enough to support their families. By putting local varieties of millets, grains, pulses and fruit on their menu, AnnaMaya is preserving food that is at risk from commercial farming and climate change.

Andaz Delhi also won the “Best Eco-Friendly Luxury Hotel” and the “Trendsetter of the Year” award at the recently concluded Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2019. In addition to this, Hyatt’s loyalty program, World of Hyatt received the Best Loyalty Program Award.

Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards recognise key players from the industry where readers cast their votes across various categories — top hotels, resorts, spas, destinations, airlines, cruise lines, and travel service providers. This year, the theme of the awards was ‘Conscious Travel’.
