BandCamp Season 5: Pre-Party #1 at Fun Republic Social

About the Event:
Season 5 of BandCamp is HERE! You can go camping with us every weekend until April 2019! Join in for the Pre-Party celebration gig at Social. You’ll get to hear some of the bands that make our campsite even more awesome with their music!
ABOUT BANDCAMP:
A stone’s throw away from the city, Bandcamp is located just off Gorai beach. Expect tents, sleeping bags and camping goodies, unwind in the main area or walk around the fishing village down to the sea! The layout is such that you can enjoy nature and have your privacy even though it’s a bustling campsite. It has huge grounds and have added hammocks, books, and games to ensure that there is something for everyone. Since Uttan is a coastal town (home to the Koli community), meals are freshly made by locals. Sundown brings with it a pre-gig BBQ and beer that sets the mood for the rest of the evening.  
MUSIC NIGHTS is our own little way of taking you out of the city hustle on a Saturday and experience great live music in the middle of nature. There is a naturally sculpted amphitheater at the campsite that serves as the perfect spot to lay back and count stars while listening to the bands play your favourite tunes. The music ranges from indie, blues, folk to rock and pop.  BandCamp is best suited for groups, solo camper, corporates, couples and pets. Basically, everybody! You can even attend our Movie+gig Nights on Fridays and our workshops.
 
Line-up for the PRE-PARTY AT SOCIAL:
1. Calico – The Band
Calico is a 4 piece band. Although still searching for a definitive sound, they identify most with a mixture of varied genres like Soft Pop, Soul, R&B and Funk. Formed in early 2017, the band consists of Anuraag Gawhale (guitar), Ivan Imkong (vocals+guitar), Shashwat Karkare (drums) and Yohaan Pissurlenker (bass). The band has come together to play a blend of alternative/indie-elements with certain acoustic, folk influenced songwriting. 
2. Curls And Beards 
Curls And Beards is John Soans and Sharvari Deshpande’s band, inspired by her curls and his beard! They cover songs on social media and have been performing at musical venues like Hard Rock Café, 3 Wise Monkeys and Habitat around the city. They sing about love and peace.   They met 8 years ago in college and came together in pursuit of performance in different ways. They were in a band and also in the same repertory theatre together. They would like to think that Curls And Beards was born out of the discoveries they made about themselves as individuals and as friends over the years of growing up! They hope to translate the love they feel for each other unto the world through their music. They play as a duo or a three/four piece band with a cello and a cajon box.
