Biryani By Kilo raises Rs 30 crore in series-A round….

Biryani By Kilo (BBK), which is a delivery lead biryani brand in the country, has raised Rs 30 crore in its Series – A funding round, which is led by IvyCap Ventures. The funding will primarily be used to fuel up geographic expansion across north and west India and improve technology, reach and efficiency, said by the company in the given statement. IvyCap Ventures indicating rising investor interest in cloud kitchen brands.

The term Cloud Kitchen is used for the kitchens which are situated in the remote areas, where food delivered via orders places on the applications. The investors say building restaurant supply is a huge opportunity in the country since the number, as well as density of restaurants, is limited compared to other economies such as the USA and China. The other cloud kitchen brands include Lunch Box, Oven Story, Freshmenu, Eat. Fit, Rebel and Behrouz. Vikram Gupta, the founder at IvyCap Ventures, said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for the emergence of pan-India Biryani-focused chains, along with room for expansion into international markets.”
