Chef Floyd Cardoz lost his battle against Covid-19

Earlier this month he had launched his third venture.

On Wednesday, Chef Floyd Cardoz passed away in New York due to coronavirus. Chef Cardoz was the co-owner of two successful restaurants in Mumbai – The Bombay Canteen and O Pedro and recently he had launched his third venture.
The Mumbai-born chef, who changed New York’s dining scene with Tabla had recently posted from his Instagram that he was feeling feverish and had admitted himself into a hospital in the city as a precautionary measure. He had admitted himself to a hospital in New York shortly after his return from India on March 8.
Cardoz is known for creating a new wave of Indian food in the US. His brainchild Tabla, a modern Indian fine-dining restaurant which had changed New York’s restaurant scene and remained a favourite until it closed in 2010.
