Chefs in Making Society Stronger!

The heroes of the kitchen are not merely being the star for the Hotels but to the society as well, Chefs from across India assembled together for a cause of the society by donating their blood, the camp was formed at Novotel Goa  Dona Sylvia Carvelossim.

On the International Chefs Day this year, the conception of a young chef Gerson Fernandes collectively gathered 112 celebrity chefs to donate blood. Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Cavelossim and Blood Bank Hospico Margo coordinated the whole initiative. Talk of the show Chef Gerson Fernandes emphasised on the necessity & importance of Blood in Human Life and said Blood cannot be manufactured but can only be donated to others in need.

Celebrity Chefs like Urban Rego, Chef Vivek Kadam- Secretary Western India Culinary Association, Chef Tushar Malhani, Jt Treasurer, Western India Culinary Association. Chef Dev Kasalkar- Vice President Young Chef Association of India and Chef Altamsh Patel Jt Secretary Western India Culinary Association, Chef Pramod Nayak, member Young Chef, member Young Chef Association. Chef Sunit Sharma- Vice President -Goan Culinary Forum Vivek Kadam. All these chefs out of their busy schedules route to Goa and oathed to spread more awareness in society.

In the declamation of President of Lions Club of Cavelossim Ln Serafino Cota, and emphasize on the urgently blood platelets Machinery and its power, Medical officers of Blood Bank Hospital Dr Ravin Rego expressed his happiness at such a huge response, the Gm of Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia, Vishal Khosla ensured the smooth arrangements for the event. 

“This was a very unique and noble initiative by the Executive chef Of Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia resort- Chef Jerson Fernandes to save valuable human lives. Chef Jerson believes that there is no substitute for human blood and this drive would help the very noble cause of saving human lives. This blood donation drive was a first of its kind ever organized in Goa by Chefs on account of International chefs day which is celebrated all across the globe on 20th October each year.

Chef Fernandes along with the General manager Mr Vishal Khosla have always believed in doing something unique priceless for the society and industry.  This was undoubtedly the first successful drive ever executed in Goa by the chefs for the chef’s fraternity. We also have celebrity Chefs who patronised the event from different parts of India.

Chef Dev Kasalkar- Vise president of young chefs association of India, Chef Vivek Kadam Executive Pastry chef from Itc hotels, Chef Sunit Sharma from Culinary forum of Goa and Chef Tushar Malkani from Indian culinary guild visited along with Chef Urbano Rego, corporate chef from Taj, were the esteemed guest of honor that travelled to Goa from different cities to add value to this life saving event. Total donors were 112 and chef Fernandes feels this blood would certainly be used to save many valuable lives. This is my best International Chefs day ever.” said by Chef Jerson Fernandes
