Bengaluru: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Radisson Blu Atria, Bengaluru saluted the fighting spirit of women who are an inspiration in today’s world. The hotel also recognised Ms. Vandana Suri who because of an attack on a woman in a cab started TaxShe, a cab service that uses women drivers to meet the travel needs of women and children

All the present ladies participated in a “Cook-off Fun” event organised by the hotels’ award-winning chefs.

On 8th March, International Women’s Day, a day that honours the achievements of women and encourages the idea of creating a gender-equal society. During the event, George Bennet Kuruvilla, General Manager – Radisson Blu Atria Bengaluru said “We are privileged and honoured to organise an event of such significance. We recognise their exceptional valour and encourage them to pursue their dreams with conviction.”

Pragya Prasun from Atijeevan Foundation said, “We are privileged to be a part of this fun cook-off event and feel proud to share about how Atijeevan Foundation has been working towards providing better lives to victims of acid attacks and immolations”. Pragya, who herself is an acid attack survivor, declared that she doesn’t consider herself a survivor, but a fighter.

Vandana Suri, Director & Founder – TaxShe (women-driven cab services for women & children) said, “I am happy that we all came together for this fun session. Our drivers come from weaker sections of society. So, having them as part of such an event helps build up their morale and above all, instils a feeling of joy and satisfaction among them.”
