Covid-19 Outbreak: MGM and Disney close hotels in the US

Many Hotels and companies have spent the past few days in announcing temporary closures to slow down the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) across the United States of America. MGM Resorts International has announced temporary closures for a number of their properties. MGM Resorts International is an America based global hospitality and Entertainment Company. 

On Sunday, 15th March 2020, MGM International Resorts announced it would temporarily suspend their operations at its Las Vegas properties until further notice regarding Covid-19, effective Tuesday, 17th March. The casino operations are expected to close from 16th March. The affected properties of the company are the Bellagio, Aria, Vdara at Aria, MGM Grand, The Signature at MGM Grand, Delano Las Vegas, Park MGM, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, NoMad Las Vegas, New York-New York, Excalibur and Luxor. 

 “Despite our commitment to dedicating additional resources for cleaning and promoting good health, while making difficult decisions to close certain aspects of our operations, it is now apparent that this is a public health crisis that requires major collective action to beat if we are too slow its progression.”, said, Chairman/CEO of MGM Resorts, Jim Murren.
