The release is in record stores now on Ballyhoo’s latest release ‘Bombay spring rolls’.

About Orbs & Zen:

Orbs & Zen, now a solo project headed by Nicky Ramnani with the onset of 2015, came into being by Nicky Ramnani & Ajay Makhija in September 2013 as a bi-weekly affair at a then freshly born venue called The Daily.

A year down the line and you could say that, musically, noticed by one of Mumbai’s leading deep and underground properties – Regenerate – Orbs & Zen began playing opening slots for international majors such as Nills Hoffmann, Daniel Steinberg, Purple Disco Machine, Adana Twins, HNQO, Juliet Sikora and multi-city toured with Fur Coat!

Orbs & Zen released his debut EP co-produced by Blurry Slur on Peter Makto & Gregory S’ label TrueSounds Music in 2016. They released another EP on Blue Orb Records later that year. Spending time producing music, Blurry Slur X Orbs & Zen came up with a concept night called FRAMED which is driven by House Music, visuals, and a different concept every time. They celebrated their one year anniversary for FRAMED with the Looney edition – previous editions were TV, Circus, and Casino.

The idea behind Orbs & Zen is to provide a wholesome experience to the audience by keeping a warm and groovy base but not being afraid to dive into a variety of genres such as minimal, deep tech, disco, and electronica. With a wide range of venues under Nicky’s belt such as Blue Frog, antiSocial, Sitara Studios, Dome International, Olive, Boveda and Waters(Goa), The Tao Terraces(Bangalore), Euriska (Pune), The Park (Chennai), The Farm (Hyderabad)… Orbz & Zen has been around – also playing festivals like Sunburn, KRANK, Ctrl Alt Dance, Lost Party and Secret Garden.

About Sakti Poinen:

Sakti Poinen is a music enthusiast hailing from the subtropical island of Mauritius. With an obsession to express his passion for music, he started DJing on his island at the tender age of 15 in reputable clubs on his island.

Heavily influenced by the radio shows of Gilles Peterson and Lefto in his teenage years, he started collecting vinyls to explore a wider palette of sounds. This exploration eventually gave him the opportunity to co-host a radio show under the name of “Music Kabinet” on the national Mauritian radio. He also became a music curator festivals and events.

Fast forward to 2018, where Sakti has decided to further his research of sound expressions by attending a music production course at the KM Music College in India.

Sakti inspires to share his love of sound daily and breathe through undeniably good music. Music from around the world without genre or era limits.
