So now we are able to have our meals beneath the water with our loved ones. YES! Beneath The Water. The first European underwater restaurant is open for public now. The name of Europe’s first underwater restaurant is “UNDER”. In Norwegian literature, the word under is means “wonder” and this Europe’s first underwater restaurant in itself is a pure wonder. The under is the first submerged restaurant is situated in the village of Båly, close to Lindesnes on Norway’s southern coast. While having your favourite meals with your loved ones in Under, you can experience the beautiful and fresh view of the North Atlantic Ocean.

This underwater restaurant or we can say that this aquatic restaurant is completely designed by the very famous architectural firm called Snøhetta. The Snøhetta is also the same architectural firm behind the famous Oslo Opera House and the National September 11 Museum in New York. This restaurant has 40 guests and features a huge observation window offering a very beautiful, calm and fresh view of aquatic life and atmosphere outside the restaurant to their guests. Around 7000 people have already booked their respective seats to enjoy this restaurant and according to their official website, there is no availability of seats until the evening of 12th September 2019.

The name of the world’s first underwater restaurant is “ITHAA”. The word ithaa means “mother of pearl” in Dhivehi (an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the South Asian country of Maldives). It is situated at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in Alif Dhaal Atoll in the Republic of Maldives. It is located 16 feet (5 meters) below the water level of the Indian Ocean. It was constructed in February 2004 by the Crown Company in the Republic of Maldives.
