Hyatt Regency Pune hosts the Pune edition of the Hyatt Culinary Challenge

A unique initiative by Hyatt Hotels in India

LvLzPBtwTo emphasize Hyatt’s focus on its rich culinary heritage, Hyatt Hotels in Indiahosted the fourth season of the ‘Hyatt Culinary Challenge – people cooking for people’ during the last weekend of October across 13 cities.

Hyatt Culinary Challenge was conceptualized as a unique event that would bring together individuals from the corporate realm on a common platform where they could showcase their culinary expertise and passion for food in an interactive culinary event.

In the Pune edition held at Hyatt Regency Pune Viman Nagar on Sunday Oct 29th, 2017 top ten Corporate guests of the city were jointly invited by the three Hyatt Hotels – Hyatt Regency Pune, Hyatt Pune and Hyatt Place Pune Hinjawadi.

Each participant was paired with a child participant from partner NGO – Maher Ashram to create a participant choice recipe to be adjudged by a panel of distinguished judges from the city. On the panel were Ms. Anjali Shetty – Assistant Editor, Hindustan Times, Ms. Laleh Busheri – CEO, Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, Mr. Saurabh Gadgil – CMD, PNG Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Chef Anirban Dasgupta – Executive Chef, Hyatt Regency Pune and Mr. Aniruddha Patil – Founder Pune Eat Outs.

Speaking on the occasion, Hyatt Regency Pune General Manager Vishal Singh said, “This is the 4th edition of the Hyatt Culinary Challenge and this is our version of ‘people cooking for people’. Hyatt Culinary Challenge is an endeavor to further strengthen the brand presence and awareness in India as we move toward becoming a brand led and purpose driven organization with care at the heart of everything we do. This annual event was also had a cause attached to it as we had children from our NGO partner Maher Ashram assisting the participants. It was exciting to see the enthusiasm among the participants, children and guests alike on a Sunday morning. The competition was tough and the judges had a hard time choosing the winners. This event has been truly encouraging and was another delightful edition. We wish our winner the very best for the Grand Finale”.

The objective behind running the Hyatt Culinary Challenge was to give a wider audience across India the opportunity to engage with Hyatt as a brand by participating in ‘people cooking for people’. The overwhelming response that we have witnessed across the cities, over thepast years, has been truly encouraging and we look forward to another wonderful edition. ” At Hyatt Regency Pune, the participants created a myriad of family style recipes ranging from Chicken Schnitzel, to Asian style Lamb Chops and the wonderful Camaciello prepared by an Italian participant. It was truly an indulgent experience and Mrs. Indu Kapoor, who prepared an Indian Thali was adjudged winner and will represent Pune in the finale. The runner up was Mr. Ravi S. Prayaga who prepared a unique and healthy fusion Japanese rice dish.

The preliminary winner and runner up were awarded a stay at Hyatt Regency Lucknow and HyattPlace Rameswaram respectively and the winner has been invited to participate in the Grand Finale at Hyatt Regency Chennai on December 02, 2017.
