Being part of society gives you an entitlement and also the responsibility to give back to the society that supports and motivates you to push boundaries and excel. The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) celebrated its 17th Annual Chef’s Get Together at the Safdarjung Club, this annual get together was marked as “Chef and Child Foundation” by ICF. As a norm the annual get together is not just treated as a celebration of achievements of the chefs but also an occasion to bring a smile on the faces of innocent children from different NGOs. This year ICF invited 80 children from Bal Sahyog, an NGO based in Connaught Place, New Delhi to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities and gourmet food cooked by none other than the chef’s themselves.

The children were seen enjoying a Magic Show, Chocolate Shooting and other activities, they also received T-shirts and gifts from ICF. Commenting on the event Chef Davinder Kumar, President Indian Culinary Forum, said, “It’s important to celebrate, but it is even more important to bring a smile on an innocent child’s face, as a tradition at ICF, before we celebrate our success and the year that was, we organize a grand luncheon for children from an NGO. We take pride in cooking for these stars and it is a privilege to see them relish the dishes we prepare for them with joy.”

The team at ICF also takes this opportunity to educate children on some basic things in life, maintaining good hygiene so as to ensure they live a healthy life. Helping children learn the dos and don’ts while/ before/ after their meals, and explain the importance of education and health in life.

Chef Vivek Saggar, General Secretary, of Indian Culinary Forum, expressed his gratitude to his team, “It gives us great joy in giving back to the society, and I am glad that each and every member of ICF shares our sentiments and believes in our moto and thoughts. If every individual gives a little back to society, there wouldn’t be anyone who was unprivileged. We have been working with children for decades and aim to continue doing so in the future as well.”
