ITDC showcasing commendable performance through its wing ‘Ashok Events’ at “Paryatan Parv-2018”

Ashok Events took grandstand in the execution of the twelve day long cultural extravaganza

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the public sector undertaking under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is proud to be the Event Manager of the Delhi leg of the grand ‘Paryatan Parv’, a 12 day long cultural extravaganza announced by Ministry of Tourism under the leadership of Shri K J Alphons, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Government of India at Rajpath Lawns.

Paryatan Parv organized by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India is being managed by Ashok Events, the events and creative division of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) at the lawns of Rajpath in Delhi. The highlighted purpose of organizing the event is to draw focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the rich and diverse culture, handicrafts and cuisines of India and reinforcing the principle of “Tourism for All”.

Paryatan Parv 2018 is focused on “Dekho Apna Desh”, “Tourism for All” and “Tourism & Governance” to sensitize youth about the unexplored destinations of India. More than 3100 events are being organized by Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other Central Ministries and States during this year’s Paryatan Parv that is showcasing events ranging from Yoga demonstrations, Cultural evenings, Photography competitions, Food/Cuisine stalls, etc.

The Inaugural event of grandeur and colourful cultural evening was inaugurated by Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Union Home Minister in presence of Mr. K. J. Alphons, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Ms. Rashmi Verma, Secretary, Tourism at the lawns of Rajpath.

Speaking on the execution of the grand cultural event, Mr. Anmol Zutshi, General Manager, ITDC – Ashok Events said, “To be designated as Ministry of Tourism’s Event Manager for the twelve day long extravaganza, is a matter of immense pride and honour for ITDC. This is the 2nd consecutive Paryatan Parv at Rajpath Lawns organized by Ministry of Tourism wherein ITDC is working as event manager and has displayed its capabilities in conceiving, implementing and managing mega events. We strive to do our best to make events of such scale a wonderful experience for the visitors attending it.”

The Event started from 16th September 2018 and will continue till 27th September 2018. Major highlights of the celebrations are ‘Cultural performances’ by States/UTs and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Band performances by Armed Forces, Theme Pavilions from States, Handicraft Stalls displayed by States, TRIFED, DC Handlooms & DC Handicrafts and Food Stalls showcasing cuisines of different States of India by the States as well as

showcasing of street food by National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) from different regions. Food stalls have also been put up by Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIH&TM) of ITDC and other Institutes of Hotel Management under NCHMCT. Creative zones have been created to entertain & engage the visitors along with Nukkad Natak performances that are promoting different themes. Yoga demonstration done by the experts from MDIY at the Parv area is also being appreciated by one and all.

Special water-proof holding areas are built to ensure public is safe from inclement weather and large water-proof gazebos have been specially created for the visitors at the Food Court area.
