Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have the Potential to become the Biggest Tourist Hubs in the Country: PM

After the Government of India scrapped Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir, in his first televised address to the nation the Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi listed several benefits that the newest Union Territory of India will enjoy now and also called upon Bollywood and Tollywood to usher a new era of Tourism Development in the territory. 

PM Modi spoke about the potential of both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as hotspots for tourism. “Ladakh has the potential to become the biggest centre of Spiritual Tourism, Adventure Tourism and Eco-Tourism. Now there will be the proper use of its potential and new opportunities will be created for development without discrimination.”

“Whether it is the colour of saffron in Jammu and Kashmir or the pure taste of coffee, the sweetness of apples or the succulence of apricots, Kashmiri shawls or artworks, the organic products of Ladakh or Herbal Medicine, it needs to be spread worldwide,” PM Modi said.
“Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have the potential to be the biggest tourist hubs in the country. Remember, there was a time when Kashmir was the most favourite destination of every Bollywood filmmakers and in the future, I am very much confident that films, regional and global, will definitely be filmed in Jammu & Kashmir,” he added. PM Modi also urged the filmmakers from Bollywood, Tollywood and other regional cinema industries to invest in the region and set up their studios too.
