Karan Rahan appointed Deputy General Manager – Business Development

Mr Karan Rahan has been appointed as Deputy General Manager – Business Development. Karan will be based in Gurugram and will responsible for identifying new opportunities to expand Ascott’s presence in India. Karan started his career with Marriott International in Revenue Management as a management trainee and has progressed quickly through the ranks to hold leadership positions in various markets, including Market Director in Revenue Management for Kochi cluster. He has been part of the pre-opening team of hotels in four different cities in India and has conducted project feasibilities in various parts of the country. Karan has worked with reputed brands like Marriott International, HVS and Hotelivate.

Karan holds a degree in Hotel Management from IHM – Aurangabad. In India, Ascott owns and operates the 187-unit Somerset Greenways Chennai and 269-unit Citadines OMR Chennai. The international brand will extend its portfolio in India with Ascott Ireo City Gurugram, Citadines Paras Square Gurugram and Citadines Calangute Goa that are slated to open in 2021 while Citadines Candolim Goa will open in 2022. In total, Ascott has a portfolio of seven properties across four cities with more than 1,200 units, making it the leading international serviced residence owneroperator in the country.
