Kashi Station receives a makeover

22/02/2020

Kashi Station is revamped to make it more passenger-friendly and beautiful. The station walls, waiting rooms and circulating areas have been given a makeover and foot overbridges are installed to make the place more convenient for passengers. The authorities were given INR 80 lakhs to INR 1 crore for this revamping.

The station now has energy-efficient LED lights and waterproof water-resistant paint that depicts the culture and spiritual legacy of Varanasi. Benches made of stainless steel are also installed in the waiting area and the washrooms now have better water taps.

It is being planned that many more railway stations will be redeveloped and beautified for a better travelling experience. The Kokrajhar station in Assam was given a similar makeover by changing its cover, walls and waiting rooms.
