Keep Those New Year’s ‘Eat Better’ Resolutions with Sequel

After a hectic festive season, resolutions to detox and eat clean in January are made by most people. If you’re finding it hard to stick to the straight and narrow, however, visit Sequel, where each dish is both delicious, while still being healthy.

If you’re a fan of smoothie bowls, Sequel offers options ranging from Cacao Avo Mousse with Granola, a Peruvian raw cacao and avocado mousse topped with raspberries and Sequel’s signature nut and seed granola; to The Immunity Booster Acai Bowl with raspberries, blueberries, Peruvian acai berry, banana and house-made cashew milk topped with granola, raspberries, pomegranate and Mexican dark chocolate chips.

To wash down the meal, Sequel’s menu offers a range of wholesome cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices, vegan teas, hot cocoa and matcha latte.

For lunch or dinner, Sequel has a host of options ranging from salad bowls, small plates and mains. Start with their popular Avocado, Walnut Pesto & Wild Arugula with Crackers, housemade buckwheat, almond and sesame crackers topped with Hass avocado, Kashmiri walnut and basil pesto and wild arugula and sun-dried cherry tomato.

Fans of salad can order the classic Energy Bowl containing Hass avocado, kale, butterhead lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes, caper berries, roasted baby carrots, dried cranberries, walnuts, baked rosemary and almond croutons dressed with olive oil, maple syrup, lime and flaxseed dressing.

For mains, choose from options like Jacket Sweet Potato, orange sweet potato stuffed with kale, chickpeas in mustard-tomato dressing, house-made probiotic-rich sauerkraut served with fermented cashew cheese, mashed avocado and drizzled with olive oil; or Jicama Tacos, stone-ground maize flour tacos with jicama, fennel, celery salsa, fresh & sundried heirloom tomato salsa and guacamole. Pescatarians can add pan-seared sea white prawns with chilli sea salt to the dish on request.

The sequel also offers other options for pescatarians like the Poached Norwegian Salmon, wild salmon poached in fennel broth, topped with saffron salt served with almond cream, fennel & leek broth; or the Lobster, Aubergine Roulade pan-seared lobster, topped with Japanese eggplant & mushroom roulade served with oyster mushroom and heirloom tomato broth.

Eating healthy doesn’t mean an end to dessert! End your meal on a sweet note with options like Peruvian Raw Cacao Tart, dehydrated almond & raisin tart filled with ganache made of cacao powder, cacao butter, coconut water, banana and maple syrup; or Apple & Berry Crumble, oat and almond crumble topped with apples and berries.
