#MeToo impact: Suhel Seth not a consultant presently, says Coca-Cola

01/11/2018

Beverage maker Coca-Cola, which has worked closely with brand marketing consultant Suhel Seth, has said he is not a consultant with the company now, following allegations against him as part of the ongoing #MeToo movement. Seth’s company Counselage has been a long-standing associate for Coca-Cola. “He is not a consultant for the board or company presently,” a Coca-Cola spokesperson said, in response to ET’s query. Seth, learnt to be a regular at Coca-Cola board meetings, had also acc accompanied company officials for the FIFA World Cup in Russia in June-July this year.

Seth has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women including actor Diandra Soares and filmmaker Natashja Rathore, as part of the #MeToo movement. The movement, which started last year when Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual harassment by many women actresses, took off in India last month when actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct. In India, it has led to several established and well-known names across industries being outed, including former minister of state for external affairs MJ Akbar, celebrity management firm Kwan’s co-founder Anirban Blah, filmmaker Sajid Khan, actor Alok Nath and comedy group AIB founders Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba.

The Tata Group said on Monday that it has terminated its contract with Counselage.
