Kolkata, September, 2021: Relive your college days at the Canteen Pub & Grub, at the City Centre 1, Kolkata. It may not be an exact replica of one’s college canteen where romance bloomed, dreams were built, friendships developed into long term bonding, shared a smoke for the first time and experimented with various concoction of ‘chai’ and ‘kaffee’. This Canteen is overtly flamboyant using stylized graffiti, neon signs, just the right touch of green added by the potted plants, an assortment of framed photos and wooden furniture crafted out of railway sleepers. The ambience is vibrant and the place truly resembles a college canteen with young people crowding the space.

Conceptualized by Swastik Nag, the owner, Canteen Pub & Grub has tried to capture and recreate the mood of a college canteen within an upper class urban environment. Swastik handled and designed the entire place including its menu and has put together a place which is chic and serves a delightful array of fusion food. The vibrancy of this place is addictive as a college canteen. Canteen Pub & Grub boasts of an interesting fusion menu aimed at wooing the contemporary palate and from time to time puts forth exclusive food promotions to add spice to life.

With that in mind Canteen Pub & Grub is hosting a Canteen Kebab Festival exclusively for kebab lovers. The festival will be there till 30^th September, 2021. This will be a perfect time to invite friends, colleagues and family to enjoy a spicy day out at the Canteen Pub & Grub to savor a platter- full of a variety of kebabs.

When we say ‘kebab’, we usually think of a non-vegetarian spread, but here they have on offer some special kebabs for the vegetarians— Gobi Ki Malai, Vegetable Sheek Kebab, Dahi Ki Tikki and the Schezwan Paneer Tikka. While the non-veg section has a delectable kebab spread— the Tandoori Annde, Chicken Chapli Kebab, Shayari Kebab, Sarson Da Machli, Lasuni Jhinga and Tandoori Pork Belly. All the items carry very ‘desi’ names…as they have to be, because kebabs offer so much of a ‘Hindustan Ka Swadd’.

Along with your Kebabs you cannot miss your sips! Canteen Pub & Grub serves heady ones. Their signature shots—Canteen, Kalkatta ka kalakhatta and Apun Ka Mango Bite have twist to their tale providing a heady taste. Cocktails being served here have interesting names—Gham ka Saathi Rum, Chaurasia Mojito, Bel ka khel, Imli Chatka, Pyar bhari Pulse, Honey Singh. You have to sample to know what goes into mixingthem!
