Nova Artisan Gelato launches its first Gelateria at Shalimar Hotel, Mumbai

October 2021: What started off as a small home-kitchen project in 2019, Nova Artisan Gelato, helmed by Simran Advani is set to transport Mumbaikars to the bylanes of Italy, one scoop at a time. Set in Mumbai’s The Shalimar Hotel, the brand is set to welcome guests back into its gelateria in November 2021.

Passionate about desserts, particularly gelato, Simran Advani had her first experience with gelatos when she studied in Milan in 2017. Once she had tried this traditional homemade Italian delicacy, it piqued her interest and soon, she was hooked on to it. After studying the art of making gelato in Bologna for 2 weeks, Simran started experimenting at home with a small ice cream maker. Following the positive feedback she received, Simran took this passion one step further and started retailing online in 2020. Now, the brand is set to officially welcome customers back into its first brick and mortar gelateria at Mumbai’s iconic The Shalimar Hotel, just in time for the festive season.

Made in small batches to maintain superior quality, consistency and flavour, Nova’s artisanal gelatos are inspired by international flavours and made with the highest quality natural ingredients. Each batch is crafted carefully to give customers an authentic experience, whether they eat it at home or in store. Customers can indulge their sweet tooth in Gianduia, a melange of chocolate and pure hazelnut, inspired from Turin; Pistachio, crafted from a blend of roasted pistachios; Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake, a beautiful tangy blend of lemon and blueberries swirled into a classic cheesecake base with crusty bits sprinkled through; Lotus Biscoff, speculoos flavoured gelato made using authentic lotus biscoff ; and Vanilla Bean, made using Tahitian vanilla pods. Vegan guests have not been forgotten! The gelateria offers flavours such as Peanut Butter Cookie Crumble, a classic combination elevated with chocolate cookie crumble; Raspberry Sorbet, a sweet and tangy treat; and Dark Chocolate Sea Salt, made from the finest Belgian chocolate. These tubs of deliciousness are also perfect giftables for the upcoming festivities.

Nova Artisan Gelato offers 300ml and 500ml tubs which are priced starting at Rs. 382, exclusive of taxes. The brand is also available on Swiggy and Zomato.
