Roasted Today x Social: Know Your Coffee Workshop at Carter Road Social

Roasted Today and the newly opened Carter Road Social is here to help you with you’re KYC.
KYC, in this case, stands for Know Your Coffee. This is the first in the series of workshops that are to be held in Bombay.

At Roasted Today, Social serves coffee that is as fresh as it can get! Sourcing the purest green beans across the country, Social profiles roast to perfection every single day. And after a day’s hard work of sourcing and roasting, one needs to take a break and unwind by brewing a cuppa.

The workshop will showcase 4 vastly different coffees and brewing methods to attendees. Through the course of the workshop, with help from the Social team, attendees will be trained in the methodology and certain key factors used to differentiate, taste and appreciate coffee as well as how some key brewing methods work.

Event Flow:

. What is Roasted Today

. Coffee Tasting 101- Step by step breakdown of what roast, body, acidity, finish and flavor profile are.

. Social team passes out some sheets for people to write down their feelies for each coffee.

. One by one, 4 different coffees will be brewed using a V60 Pourover/Chemex and given to sample.

. Shots of soda passed around as a palette cleanser. Attendees may shout CHEERS/KANPAI before they down the shot. Just a suggestion, chill out.

. Once the audiences write down their opinions the verdict of the coffee and its profile is chosen by the roaster will be revealed followed by a group discussion.

. For the next half of the workshop, the selected favorite coffee of the attendees will be brewed in 4 different ways.

. The order is as follows: Iced Chemex/V60, Aeropress, Syphon and French Press. With each method, someone from our team will give you the dope behind how these methods brew and what effects it will have on the coffee.

. The samples will be passed out to attendees to drink and discuss while looking out into the sunset on Carter Road like it’s a party scene from a feel-good movie.
