Serving Liquor approved in Mumbai Hotels

The Maharashtra State Excise Government has granted permission to the star rated hotels in Mumbai that they can serve liquor in their open-air restaurants. The permission is granted only to the hotels that have obtained a NOC from BMC(Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) and from the Fire Department. The GR(Government Resolution) which have been granted to them, allows them to apply just for a single composite licence covering all their restaurants, cafes and lounges. The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India(HRAWI) has appreciated the move and said that they will talk to the government for making the same applies to restaurants as well.

Gurbaxish Singh Kohli the president of HRWAI said that they have been talking to the government on this topic for a decade and they will try their level best to get it legalized for the restaurants as well. Mumbai is the biggest tourist hub in the country. It is also prefered by many international tourists as their destination to travel. Kohli said that many foreigners prefer open-air dining and drinking and by getting it legalized for restaurants as well the local people of Mumbai will also be able to enjoy this experience.
