Speciality closes restaurants till March 31

Speciality Restaurants Ltd that has brands like Mainland China, Oh! Calcutta, Sigree, Asia Kitchen has been closed from Thursday night. Anjan Chatterjee, the chairman of thegroup told TOI that considering the gravity of the situation, it has decided to close all its restaurants from mid night of March 19. It will remain close till March 31. However, home delivery from some selective location in the city would be available. Explaining the decision, Chatterjee added that public health and safety is of utmost importance for the group.

“We are doing a business but that is not above safety and health of our customer. India is entering level 3 of the Corona outbreak which is really dangerous. As a responsible citizen it is our duty to help centre and state to check this Pandemic,” he added. Speciality has 39 restaurants in the state across 21 brands. Besidesm leading brands other brands include Flame & Grill, Haka, BarishhCafe Mezzuna, Hoppi Pola, Kix, Episode along with others. According to Chatterjee, the group has 500 employees in the state. “I have told them to go on leave till March 31. They are also happy with this decision. I was really worried when I heard that one Corona affected went to South City Mall. We have lot of restaurants in malls,” he added. Elaborating on home delivery, he said that it would offer up to 25% discount on home delivery depending on order value.
