Swiggy launches contact less delivery to beat coronavirus fears

27/03/2020

As social distancing becomes the new norm amid coronavirus pandemic putting the country under a lockdown, food delivery app Swiggy has launched a no contact delivery option.

The option is, however, available only for those who have opted for a prepaid order and not cash on delivery.

Customers have to check on the No Contact option at the time of ordering the food on the app.

The delivery partner will leave the food outside the door and call the customer to confirm the pick up.

The move has been taken to instill confidence among customers who want to order food online but are worried about safety. This comes at atime when the delivery partners are facing challenges with the police clamping down on them for violation of lockdown.

Not just that, even closure of restaurants and hotels has affected the business of online food delivery apps.
