Women Driven Cabs on Delhi Airport

Sakha consulting wings has tied up with GMR at Indira Gandhi International Airport wherein women-driven cab service will be provided to women travellers to make it a safer option for them. 

The initiative is launched under the brand name, ‘women with wheels’. The drivers have extensive training in driving ad self-defence. The cabs will be available 24×7. A special booth for booking will be there on Terminal3, opposite to gate no 6, near pillar 16. These cabs can also be booked online. The fares will be the same as the normal taxis with 25 % additional charges between 10 pm to 5 am.

A dedicated space at the Indira Gandhi International Airport not only assures women travellers of their safety, but it will also go a long way in generating bigger employment opportunities to the women from marginalized communities. Sakha works with Azad Foundation and together they ensure “Livelihoods with dignity” for poor women. Azad provides professional driving training to poor women to create a support system for them. Sakha has been providing the service of women drivers from last decade and till now they have successfully provided jobs to almost a thousand women in Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Kolkata and Indore.
